Tesserent Limited (ASX: TNT) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Buerckner as Head of Security Operations.

“We are delighted that David is joining us in this important role to enhance our operational processes and systems to ensure we continue to provide excellent service quality to our growing customer base,’’ said Tesserent chief executive Keith Glennan.

“David will add a lot of experience in building and leading teams from his time at Interactive and before that at IBM,’’ said Mr Glennan.

“His arrival comes at an exciting time for Tesserent as local and international sales for our education focused cyber-security platform continue to grow and our managed cyber-security offering continues to offer world-class managed security services from our locally developed proprietary platform.,’’ he said.

Mr Buerckner has a strong background in technical roles and IT Operations going back 30 years across both small and large organisations.

Most recently David held a number of leadership roles within the Cloud and Managed Services division at Interactive Pty Ltd through a period of significant growth, and a rapidly changing technology globally in the cloud environment.

Prior to Interactive, David was at IBM for 15 years through a wide variety of roles including technical leadership, product development, project management, and leadership roles for accounts including BHP and Jemena. This provided a strong foundation in ITIL, project management and building and leading teams.

Mr Buerckner said he was delighted to be joining Tesserent at a time when it is experiencing strong Australian and offshore growth.

“This is an incredibly exciting and challenging time to be involved in the IT Security industry,’’ said Mr Buerckner.

“In my time in IT, security has gone from the early days of very public viruses designed for fame, to botnets and criminal activities designed to stay secret for as long as possible. “

The attacks, methods and criminal business models change daily, and to be working for an organisation at the frontline of this activity is a great opportunity.”

Mr Buerckner said Tesserent’s MSSP model is quite unique, combining the flexibility of our own locally developed technology and the ability to leverage leading OEM security products through our partnerships with some of the world’s leading security vendors.

“The result is a service that can be tailored to meet the specific security demands of our customers” he said.
